At S&W, we help our clients thrive by simplifying the complex, illuminating new paths, and shaping solutions that make a difference. As one of the UK’s top 10 fastest-growing accountancy firms, we have been a trusted partner since 1881—helping businesses and individuals meet challenges and seize opportunities across generations.

Built on expertise and driven by ambition, we provide a comprehensive range of services, including tax and accountancy, advisory and assurance, corporate finance, and restructuring. We are defined by our purpose—to help navigate challenges, unlock potential, and achieve the extraordinary.

We're seeking a talented person to join our ABS Training and Development team.

As an Audit Manager - Technical Training and Development, you will be a part of our ABS Training and Development team, which is responsible for playing a key role in training staff in practical ways to manage the firm's regulatory and reputational risk in an increasingly challenging environment.

We're a national team of both direct staff and volunteers, proud to work closely with audit teams to provide continuous and relevant practical training. We are also a part of the Assurance Technical and Training (ATAT) and we are working closely with Learning and Development, to provide a cohesive service.

As an Audit Manager - Technical Training and Development your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with all stakeholders, incl. Training and Development Lead, to ensure all are kept up to date with relevant training and that feedback is taken into account.
  • Organising, developing, reviewing and delivery of training to agreed timescales.
  • Preparing proposals for developing training, attending all relevant internal meetings and training sessions, and developing a network of contacts.
  • Managing/co-managing a limited portfolio of audit clients to maintain knowledge and experience of current practices and issues.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Qualified by experience (ACA, CA, ACCA) with significant external audit experience gained within a professional services environment.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of accounting and auditing standards, industry specifics and their application.
  • Good working knowledge of skill requirements of staff at various levels to ensure work is undertaken by appropriate individuals.
  • Very good communication skills to liaise with all stakeholders.

Desired skills:

  • Previous experience in developing and delivering practical training.
  • A strong appetite to see people develop and improve audit quality.
  • Ability to develop and present practical audit content at a high level, responsive to the needs of the business.

As a colleague here at S&W you will have access to benefits that include:

  • Private medical insurance.
  • Life assurance.
  • Pension contribution.
  • Generous holiday package.
  • Option to purchase additional holiday.
  • Shared parental leave.
  • Fully funded training towards professional qualifications.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Season ticket loan.
  • Eye care support.

We are proud to value the differences that a diverse workforce brings, representative of society and our clients. At S&W we have a wide range of highly active employee resource groups and we’re delivering multiple diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives across the organisation. It is our commitment to provide a workplace where all colleagues, regardless of identity, background, or circumstance, feel respected as individuals and feel that they can achieve their full potential and work in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.

We are happy to make any reasonable adjustments to accommodate for your needs throughout the application process. Please let your Recruiter know.
