Full Stack Engineer - Fraud Team
Hybrid in London, UK

The Fraud team is a new team within iwoca, and owns iwoca’s strategy and tech systems against fraud. The team balances robust fraud prevention with an exceptional customer experience and strong conversion rates.
The team is growing, and currently consists of a principal full-stack engineer and a Team Lead.
We need a full-stack engineer to join the growing Fraud team, to help significantly restructure and simplify iwoca’s fraud systems. This is a high-growth role, with a view that you will grow to take on technical leadership of the team.
Ownership and influence
Design and build iwoca’s new fraud system, to achieve a balance between fraud prevention and customer experience.
Take ownership of the solutions that feed into this system, covering both in-built capabilities and third-party integrations.
Use data to identify opportunities and measure improvements to our systems and processes.
Collaboration
Work with product, analytics and strategy team members to ensure technical solutions align with iwoca’s overall fraud strategy.
Collaborate with engineers within other parts of iwoca, such as our Operations, Customer Funnel, and Credit Risk teams, to drive fraud tech changes forwards.
Growth and progression
Progress to becoming the team’s technical lead within 6-9 months.
The requirements
Essential:
Back-end development experience, ideally with Python.
Front-end development experience with TypeScript.
Experience with Django, PostgreSQL, and designing, building, and managing relational databases.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
Bonus:
Experience working with third-party integrations.
React framework experience.
A strong numerical academic background, i.e. maths, physics, computer science, engineering, or similar.
An understanding of data analysis and statistics.
The salary
We expect to pay from £60,000 - £70,000 for this role. But, we’re open-minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates, and run quarterly performance and salary reviews.
