Job description

Job Title: Account Manager

Summary of Role

You will be responsible for developing Our Service business in your defined territory with specifically allocated customer(s).

The specific customers you will be allocated are already Hall and Kay customers, they will be End users and facility management companies operating in the commercial and industrial space.

What our Account Manager will be doing

  • You will be responsible for developing deeper relationships with our customers with a focus on supporting them on existing and new service-related business.
  • You will also be responsible for targeting and developing new service opportunities from our existing customers.
  • You will be responsible for key renewals with the defined customers and support as and when required by the service operations department.
  • You will also be responsible for developing the service-related tenders for all enquiries your customer accounts generate in line with the companies guidance/requirements.
  • Review and respond to enquiries sent allocated to you including updating our CRM system Goldvision.
  • Review and develop technical specifications and begin developing the proposal based on customer deadlines.
  • Review customer specifications, drawings, bills of quantities and other service documentation to produce an accurate quotation.
  • Liaise with the operations team for technical input into the quotation.
  • Analyse level of risk associated with financial, technical elements of the project.
  • Produce and submit quotations to customers/clients.
  • Progress submitted quotations to obtain client feedback & prepare win/loss KPIs and lessons learnt.

What we will need from you as an Account Manager

  • Proven technical experience in sprinkler service with a good understanding of reading technical specifications (essential).
  • Experience in the following sectors would be advantageous: office/commercial, industrial/warehousing, retail, data centres, and the broader commercial and industrial setting; while the residential sector is not our prime focus, we do carry out service work in the residential sector.
  • Experience of developing sprinkler service quotations/bids (essential).
  • Understanding of construction programs/building regulations/industry standards/legislation (essential).
  • Creative in approach with the ability to maintain and develop positive customer relationships (essential).
  • Strong commercial awareness with demonstrable numerical skills (essential).
  • Ideally will have performed a similar sales/estimating role within the fire protection industry (essential).
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities (essential), along with exceptional attention to detail and efficiency (essential).
  • Proven IT skills with experience of MS Office packages (essential).
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously as well as an effective team player in a close-knit and highly successful team (essential).
  • Friendly and outgoing personality with the natural ability to engage with customers/clients representing Hall & Kay professionally and positively (essential).
  • Ability to present proposals to clients face to face or remote (essential).
  • Experience in dealing with end users, insurers, and Main Contractors (essential).
