We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity with a leading law firm in Norwich for an experienced Criminal Solicitor (2 Years PQE).


Role Overview:

As a Criminal Solicitor you will play a crucial role within the department. This position is a fantastic opportunity for a solicitor who is duty accredited, and has a strong background in Criminal Law and Advocacy.


Role Responsibilities:

  1. Advising and representing clients in criminal matters, including providing legal representation at police stations and court proceedings.
  2. Managing a diverse caseload, including conducting thorough research and analysis of case facts, legal issues, and relevant legislation.
  3. Drafting legal documents, including correspondence, proofs, witness statements, and pleadings.
  4. Conducting case preparation, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service.
  5. Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and other professionals within the criminal justice system.
  6. Representing clients in Magistrates’ Court, as required.
  7. Ensuring compliance with regulatory and firm requirements, including maintaining accurate records and adhering to confidentiality protocols.
  8. Joining the local duty Solicitor scheme and/or participating in the Firm’s out-of-hours rota and providing on-call support to clients as needed.
  9. Continuously updating legal knowledge and skills through professional development and training.

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + payments for out of hours Police Station attendance
