Job description

Amazon.co.jp is looking for Senior Business Development Manager who is customer-centric, data-driven, and highly motivated to invent for customers and drive business growth in a cross-functional environment. This role mainly works on a special project in the Beauty category to unlock new opportunities for customers through marketing beauty content and information and engaging with customers to help them discover new beauty products. A successful candidate has strong ownership, learns & is curious, and engages with external partners with trust. You will work closely with external partner companies to help them engage with external Selling Partners to provide customer/brand insights and drive program growth.


Key job responsibilities

Beauty is a key category that Amazon focuses on to innovate customers’ shopping experience worldwide. This role owns program marketing in a JP-specific initiative to partner with external companies to leverage their assets and capabilities to create a joint customer experience that better serves Japanese customers’ demands and preferences. Building brand relationships and engagement is one of the key pillars of this project, which this role primarily owns. Your responsibilities include engaging with external partner companies to accelerate their brand onboarding by offering customer insights, data analysis, and support packages to the team. You are expected to coordinate across multiple internal stakeholders including sales, advertising, marketing, product management, legal, and accounting for services and support we offer to external companies. This position offers exciting opportunities to be a part of building and managing new products and programs by closely collaborating across multiple functions internally and externally, including software development, product/program managers, and finance in both domestic and international teams.

The candidate is expected to have fluent Japanese language skills for communicating with external partner companies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in developing, negotiating, and executing business agreements
  • Experience working in a fast-moving consumer business
  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience influencing multiple stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams across geographies and business units
  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design, or a related field
