Export Coordinator

Export Coordinator - Glasgow - Up to £40,000

Our client, a global Freight Forwarder, is seeking an Export Coordinator to join their expanding team in Glasgow. The role will involve overseeing the full export process, from start to finish.

We're looking for a candidate with at least 3 years' experience in freight forwarding, but we will also consider individuals with a transport background who are eager to learn about exports.

Job type: Permanent

Shifts: Monday to Friday - 9:00 am to 5:30 pm

Salary: Up to £40,000

Responsibilities:

1. Plan the most efficient routes for shipments, considering the nature of goods, costs, transit time, and security.
2. Process all export requests from clients or line managers.
3. Maintain ongoing communication with clients throughout each export process.
4. Track "door-to-door" exports until successful delivery within required timelines.
5. Generate quotes when needed, ensuring the best options are provided to clients.
6. Support colleagues in the team to ensure timely closure of all tasks.
7. Handle customs declarations through ASM Sequoia software, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
8. Stay up to date with HM Revenue & Customs regulations.
9. Ensure destination-specific documentation requirements are met.

Requirements:

1. At least 3 years of UK experience in international exports and freight forwarding.
2. Excellent customer service skills.
3. In-depth knowledge of HMRC regimes and entry types.
4. Strong understanding of ASM Sequoia.
