Job Description

We are currently seeking a Transport Planner to join our Transport Team for our Retail sector at our Goole Customer site. As a Transport Planner, you will be contributing to the success of the transport team. You will be responsible for completing and overseeing the day-to-day planning function of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a quick and fast-paced environment and be able to deal with day-to-day challenges in providing an effective transport plan.

Working hours: 4 on 4 off nights, 18:00-06:00

Salary: £28,000 per annum

Key Duties Of a Transport Planner
  1. Work with Transport and Warehouse teams to create an efficient transport plan using the latest TMS.
  2. Assemble 400+ consolidated orders into loads in every 24-hour period.
  3. Subcontract and plan orders from multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK.
  4. Plan daily workload of fleet vehicles based on site and outbases.
  5. Report problems and deal with issues and any queries that may arise.
  6. Plan approximately 100 collections per day on a time-critical basis.
  7. Maintain and exceed agreed KPIs.
  8. Proactively look for continuous improvements.
  9. Make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale.
  10. Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak periods during the year.
  11. Efficiently utilize the Culina Group network in support of Warrens when volumes dictate.

Qualifications
  1. Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
  2. Proficient in computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  3. Experience of planning units across multiple depots.
  4. Excellent communication skills and ability to succeed in a pressurized environment.
  5. Customer focus on delivery performance.
  6. Commercially and financially astute and driven to deliver exceptional results.
  7. Experience of using a TMS system.
  8. Experience in an FMCG environment.
  9. Strong analytical and Excel capability across standard formulas.
