New - our client is a leading top-tier Legal 200 firm, with an impressive commercial disputes team frequently instructed on a broad range of litigation matters including: property; insolvency; contractual claims, commercial/financial litigation, across a diverse mix of sectors including: Logistics, Retail; Technology; Media; Health; Financial Services and, Healthcare.

Due to growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Commercial Litigation Associate (3 PQE+) to join their growing team with location flexibility due to offices in both Essex and Suffolk.

The firm has 260 members comprising 34 partners and are looking for a passionate and dedicated litigation lawyer to join them.

You will have a strong background in litigation, you must be motivated, proactive, have a flare for business development, and be able to manage your own case load.

The successful individual will require sound knowledge of the law and civil procedures rules whilst also demonstrating good client liaison/interpersonal skills (verbal and written) and the ability to organise, prioritise and assist with a busy and varied litigation caseload.

About the role:

The team handles a wide range of contentious work for a variety of clients, from individuals and owner managed businesses to household name PLCs.

The firm is committed to investment in our team and has several solicitor advocates within the team as well as members of CiArb and qualified mediators.

We are looking for a Solicitor or Associate to join the Commercial Dispute Resolution team, with the flexibility of hybrid office and home working.

It is anticipated that you will have demonstrable experience of providing high quality dispute resolution and litigation advice and be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. Day to day, you will have a varied caseload, including work such as:

• Commercial related dispute work
• Contractual disputes between businesses
• Professional negligence claims
• Mediation and other forms of ADR
• Business Development opportunities

The successful candidate should enjoy working with others and have excellent attention to detail. Sound knowledge of the law and civil procedures rules is essential together with good organisational and time management skills.

Due to growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Litigation Associate (3 PQE+) to join their team and advise a wide array of clients in the early stages of a potential dispute through to representing in dispute resolution processes whether through the High Court, Arbitral and other tribunals, mediation, and other ADR processes.

The team undertakes a wide range of commercial, civil, and health, social care litigation and regulatory work.

The successful individual will have 2-3 years of commercial/civil litigation with a strong understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and excellent technical litigation skills.

This role will focus on a broad range of commercial disputes but we are looking for individuals with a genuine appetite for business development. You can expect to assist with larger, higher value cases whilst also managing your own smaller disputes from beginning to end.

This collegiate team is frequently instructed on high-value and complex commercial litigation matters so you will receive unique exposure to high-quality matters with an opportunity to progress your career longer-term. You will have some existing experience of commercial litigation matters and be able to demonstrate a solid academic record including: 2:1 at degree level.

Responsibilities may include:

• Acting for a mix of Claimants and Defendants, maintaining own caseload and seeking appropriate guidance when required.
• Advising clients on funding options available to them and on procedure and alternative dispute resolution processes.
• Identifying and liaising with appropriate experts and Counsel.
• Undertaking advocacy, when cost effective, at all interlocutory stages.
• Supporting the senior members of the team in their caseloads, including running their cases during periods of absence.

We are looking for an organised team-player with excellent attention-to-detail and good problem-solving ability.

You will need to be able to form a clear view of the legal merits of a situation and formulate a strategy for resolving it. The team is friendly, collegiate and focused on delivering an outstanding client service on every instruction.
