An established industry player is seeking Rigger/Operators and Lifting Coordinators for exciting roles at Sullom Voe Terminal. These positions offer a unique opportunity to work on a rotation basis, contributing to critical lifting operations in the Petrochemical sector. Candidates will be responsible for following detailed lift plans, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring safety protocols are upheld. We are looking for additional personnel to join our team of Rigger/Operators at Sullom Voe Terminal. We have temporary and ad-hoc positions with potential full-time positions forthcoming. Successful applicants would be joining teams working on a rotation basis of 2 weeks on/2 weeks off, working 10 or 12hr days, dependent upon project requirements.
As part of a team, duties will include following detailed lift plans and risk assessments, obtaining and rigging up lifting equipment/accessories to carry out lifting operations. Duties may also include driving plant; cranes, HIAB, forklifts, depending upon the candidate.
The successful candidate(s) will hold an NPORS or OPITO Rigging qualification, preferably Competent level, and/or Crane qualification. HGV, HIAB, Forklift and/or working at height/harness certification/experience would be beneficial, as well as experience working in the Petrochemical Industry.
In addition to Riggers, we are looking for additional LCP – Lifting Coordinators on the same basis.
The successful candidate will hold an NPORS or OPITO Rigging qualification at Competent level, demonstratable lifting experience and have Appointed Person Certification. Primary role will be to join the Rigger/Operator squad as above, but will step up to the LCP role to meet project demands. The LCP role will be responsible for creating and raising lift plans and work pack requirements for lifting operations being carried out by Peterson personnel at SVT or on the client’s behalf.
Candidates will perform site visits, carry out risk assessments, contribute to regular safety meetings, act as liaison with staff/client/office and support the admin requirements associated. You will liaise with key parties to ensure daily plans are communicated effectively.
Candidates for both roles will have good communication skills and be able to work well as part of a team. A commitment to health and safety is essential. Training and certification for driving plant will be beneficial. A Disclosure Scotland Certificate is a prerequisite for these roles.
