Job Description

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and developing new market opportunities and strategic partnerships for the Allye MAX energy storage solutions across both mobile power and on-grid applications. You will focus on expanding Allye's market presence through relationship building, strategic account development, and creating innovative commercial models to drive business growth.

You will be responsible for developing and executing the go-to-market strategy, identifying key sectors for expansion, and establishing a network of channel partners, installers, and strategic allies. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop compelling value propositions, identify new revenue streams, and create mutually beneficial commercial relationships that drive adoption of Allye's technology.

You will be highly strategic, growth-oriented and comfortable working in an early-stage business where market opportunities need to be discovered and new business models developed. You will be adept at identifying market trends, competitive positioning, and developing creative commercial approaches to address customer pain points.

As an exceptional relationship builder and strategic thinker, you will be comfortable developing and negotiating complex hardware-as-a-service and subscription models associated with energy storage. This is a multi-faceted role which requires a strong commercial knowledge of the market for energy storage and the ability to forge partnerships that accelerate market adoption. This is a UK and Ireland focused role initially but has significant potential to grow into a global business development role for the right person.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve revenue targets
  2. Identify, evaluate and develop strategic partnerships and channel opportunities
  3. Build and manage relationships with key industry stakeholders and decision-makers
  4. Research and analyze market trends to identify new business opportunities
  5. Create innovative commercial models and pricing strategies for different market segments
  6. Develop comprehensive business cases and ROI models for target customers
  7. Lead complex negotiations and structure commercial agreements
  8. Coordinate with marketing to develop targeted messaging and value propositions
  9. Represent Allye at high-profile industry events and speaking engagements
  10. Establish and maintain a network of installation partners and system integrators
  11. Create quarterly business development forecasts and strategic roadmaps

Qualifications

Must-haves

  1. Business, Commercial or relevant degree, or equivalent work experience
  2. At least 5 years' experience in business development or strategic partnerships
  3. Proven track record of developing new markets and commercial relationships
  4. Experience with innovative business models including "as-a-service" or subscription models
  5. Strong commercial acumen and ability to structure complex deals
  6. Knowledge of the energy sector, with understanding of C&I energy challenges
  7. Experience in developing partner networks and channel strategies
  8. Excellent negotiation skills and ability to close high-value agreements
  9. Ability to create and articulate compelling business cases and value propositions
  10. Strong strategic thinking and commercial planning capabilities
  11. Exceptional relationship-building and networking skills
  12. Experience using CRM systems to manage business development pipelines
  13. Effective in a highly collaborative yet informally structured work environment
  14. Self-directing, ability to work independently while aligning with company goals
  15. Able to travel in UK and international on occasion

Nice to Have

  1. A second European language, Spanish and German preferred
  2. Experience in the renewable energy or cleantech sectors
  3. Network of contacts in relevant industries (energy, industrial, commercial property)
  4. Experience developing business in multiple international markets
  5. Understanding of project finance or energy investment models
  6. Knowledge of energy regulations and incentive programs
  7. Experience from automotive, the battery industry or related technology startup
  8. MBA or other advanced business qualification
