Apprentice Carpenter

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma.

Work Site Environment: Dusty.

Work Setting: Construction. Various locations.

Responsibilities

Tasks

• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
• Supervise other workers.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.

Experience

1 year to less than 2 years.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

• Combination of sitting, standing, walking.
• Handling heavy loads.

Workplace Information

• Location: 5788 146A Street Surrey, BC V3S 5L3
• Salary: $35.00/hour, 30 hours per week.
• Terms of Employment: Permanent employment, Full-time.
• Work Schedule: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Early Morning, Morning.
• Start Date: As soon as possible.
