Due to continued success, this Legal 500 Firm located in the City seeks a Finance Director to join their expanding team.

The Role:

As a Finance Director, you will be responsible for:

  1. Overseeing daily accounting and legal cashier operations.
  2. Supervising and training the accounts team, monitoring performance, and allocating tasks.
  3. Preparing monthly management accounts, KPIs, and cash flow reports.
  4. Managing budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow.
  5. Monitoring income, expenditure, and budget compliance.
  6. Posting monthly journals (accruals, prepayments, payroll) and processing VAT returns.
  7. Performing bank reconciliations, client-to-office transfers, and supplier invoice postings.
  8. Handling payroll processing and PAYE/NI payments.
  9. Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  10. Managing SAR audits and liaising with the bank and HMRC.
  11. Supporting senior management with analysis and addressing partner and staff queries.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum 4 years of experience in finance within a law firm.
  2. Recent experience working under SRA Solicitors Accounts Rules in a law firm is essential.
  3. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
