Registered Manager – Acquired Brain Injury

Location: Bournemouth

Salary: up to £50,000 per year

My client is recruiting a Service Manager for their small, specialist, residential ABI service in Bournemouth. As the Service Manager, you will have day to day responsibility for the management of staff to ensure the delivery of person-centred support to adults with a range of needs resulting from a brain injury. The service generally supports a 12-week rehab program for each resident.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide strong leadership and direction to the care team, ensuring the delivery of person-centered care that meets the individual needs and preferences of the residents.
  2. Oversee all aspects of the service operations, including staffing, budget management, and regulatory compliance, to ensure the highest standards of care and safety.
  3. Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, their families, and external stakeholders, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes trust and communication.
  4. Lead by example in promoting a culture of dignity, respect, and empowerment, ensuring that each resident is treated with compassion, empathy, and understanding.
  5. Conduct regular assessments of residents' care needs and develop comprehensive care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring that all care interventions are evidence-based and effective.
  6. Monitor the quality of care provided through regular audits, evaluations, and feedback mechanisms, implementing improvements and innovations to enhance service delivery.
  7. Keep abreast of developments in mental health care practices, legislation, and regulations, and ensure that the home operates in compliance with all relevant standards and guidelines.
The Ideal Service Manager Will Be:
  1. Experienced as a Service Manager within ABI or complex learning disabilities
  2. Holding or be working towards an NVQ 5 in Health and Social Care
  3. Able to manage dispersed teams
  4. Committed to supporting people to live lifestyles of their choosing
  5. Experienced with managing people, service and quality within Mental Health and Learning Disabilities or ABI
  6. Able to maintain accurate and clear records
  7. Experienced with finances and budgets
  8. Able to promote and maintain independence, choice and respect
  9. Have good awareness of CQC legislation, updates, changes and best practice
