Job description

Investment Analyst/Associate Role Description:

noa is a venture capital firm headquartered in London, investing in pioneering founders and breakthrough technologies that positively transform the largest, least digitised, and most polluting industry globally: the built world. noa’s investments span the globe in innovative technology from seed to series B, transforming our physical world; from the buildings we occupy, and the spaces that surround us, to the roads we travel, the bridges that connect communities, and the energy and grids that power them. noa has backed some of the world’s most forward-looking energy, real estate, construction, industrial and mobility companies and is a leader in the space.

We’re seeking a talented Analyst/Associate to join our Investment Team in London: the team at noa responsible for sourcing, underwriting and executing investments, supporting portfolio companies, and developing investment research for a prepared mind. This position will provide broad support across all aspects of the investment team workflow.

This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced firm and gain broad exposure to the venture capital ecosystem and investment process. We’re looking for an insatiably curious, analytically minded individual who’s able to manage multiple workstreams, draw insights across an ecosystem and build a network of venture capital investors, founders and ecosystem participants.

This position will be based in our offices in Marylebone, London, and a successful applicant will be expected to perform:

  • Market research: Perform independent research sprints and market deep dives to build knowledge and expertise for one of our core investment theses. This includes market size & growth analysis, identification of key industry trends, company mapping & screening, and preparation of supporting documents to monitor market activity.
  • Screening & due diligence: Conduct first high-level evaluation of companies and build a shortlist of the most promising investment opportunities identified through your market research, in-bound, or out-bound channels. Team up with senior team members to develop investment insights and investment hypotheses by conducting market, product, customer, competitor, and financial due diligence.
  • Investment case: Support the deal team with company valuations, exit scenario modelling, and investment case analysis. Help prepare relevant documents for various stages of the investment process through deep dives and summarising key learnings and investment hypotheses to facilitate an investment decision.
  • Portfolio support: Support the investment team in their work with portfolio companies in financial, operational, and strategic matters. Monitor portfolio companies in terms of growth milestones.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in banking, consulting, private equity, venture capital or the venture/tech ecosystem.
  • Analytical and financial/business modelling skills.
  • Process-driven orientation with a clear ability to cut through complexity, deal with ambiguity and present clear, robust insights.
  • Tech savvy and passionate about innovation and technology.
  • Highly independent, willing to tackle both the complex and tedious with initiative. A resilient “get things done” mindset.
  • Collaborative team player who values effort over ego, with high standards of professional and ethical conduct.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (engineering, economics, energy studies, sustainability, business administration, or similar).
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary, discretionary bonus and carried interest.
  • Other benefits: £1,500 Learning & Development Allowance, Life Assurance, Cycle to Work, 4 months paid parental leave.
