Job Summary

To manage the shift operation whilst maintaining a safe working environment which complies with the Company H&S Policy. Establish the daily requirements, Co-ordinate and drive the movement of work, manpower and equipment to achieve the daily plan. To ensure that performance, non-conformance and behavior are challenged constructively and equally. Communicate clearly on work expectations and utilise staff according to their trained skill level.

Key accountabilities:

  1. Health, Safety and Compliance
  2. Comply with H&S audit requirements
  3. Actively engage workforce in Safety Culture
  4. Maintain and audit database of equipment to ensure serviceability
  5. Maintain systems and processes
  6. Manage the flow of Inbound/Outbound orders
  7. Ensure orders are worked in accordance with picking Plan
  8. Ensure orders are worked in line with customer expectations
  9. Ensure appropriate documentation accompanies all orders
  10. Ensure a smooth flow of inbound stock within required time scales
  11. Working closely with team in assembly area
  12. Working closely with other shift managers to maintain overall site performance and maximise efficiency
  13. Set out clear expectations
  14. Provide continuous feedback
  15. Ensure appropriate staffing levels to achieve business requirements
  16. Manage attendance, conduct and personnel issues inline with company policies.
  17. Maintain a suite of KPI’s, investigate variances
  18. Identify opportunities for improvement in service, cost, quality and personnel.
  19. Manage Business Expectations
  20. Liaise, support and develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers
  21. Provide daily feedback on expectations and achievements
  22. Development
  23. Take responsibility for Warehouse Operations in Warehouse Manager's absence
  24. Lead projects at a local level

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. 1 year experience in the above or a similar role
  2. IOSH, or similar H&S qualification
  3. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  4. Experience in using WMS systems
  5. Ability to adapt to new ideas and learn quickly.
  6. A good motivator of people.
  7. To have an expectation of high standards in the working environment.
  8. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  9. Ability to prioritise business requirements
  10. Understands and demonstrates the culture and values of the business within his/her team.
  11. Ability to influence and persuade others
