Job Title: EAL Educational Content Lead

Location: Permanently based in the UK with the Right to Work. Choice of remote, hybrid or office working.

Salary: £33,000

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About The Role

We are looking for a candidate who has a specialism in English as an Additional Language (EAL) - for example, a teacher with experience of working with children learning EAL or an EAL Lead - and is seeking a new challenge in leading and expanding our range of EAL teaching resources and services to support teachers, parents, and children around the world.

Educational Content Leads at Twinkl are responsible for driving forward the vision and aims of established resource collections, as well as creating innovative and exciting materials that are at the forefront of the education market.

They work closely with the product development team to create the right resources at the right time to support the needs of educational professionals. The successful candidate will carry out their role whilst communicating extensively with key stakeholders both within and outside the business to achieve the company’s core values and focus.

This exciting and varied role will give you the opportunity to play a key role in the development of the most popular teaching materials in the world and help to meet the needs of thousands of educators.

What Will You Be Doing?
Competitor and Market Monitoring
  1. Perform daily or weekly horizon scanning of competitor movements and take action as needed.
  2. Stay updated with all relevant guidance and spot opportunities through monitoring competitors and government updates.

Innovation and Idea Generation
  1. Identify and develop unmissable ('brickwall') opportunities.
  2. Generate big ideas to solve customer pain points.
  3. Innovate new ideas and drive content creation through the content roadmap.

Research and Guidance
  1. Stay updated on current research theory and filter relevant findings to the teams.
  2. Support production and development teams with up-to-date guidance.

Strategy and Prioritisation
  1. Create and execute annual business strategies for your content lines.
  2. Decide on current and future priorities based on business strategies.
  3. Create the right content at the right time, clearly communicating resource priorities to the production team.

Collaboration and Communication
  1. Work collaboratively with other ECLs to ensure a cohesive content approach across the resource collection.
  2. Liaise with other teams and key stakeholders (e.g., marketing, product) to organise, communicate, and promote your content.
  3. Execute a content linking strategy to ensure a seamless user journey through your content line.
  4. Communicate and promote your content to a wider audience by writing and presenting professional development courses and teachmeets.

Performance and Insights
  1. Share content line successes and opportunities for improvement.
  2. Gather content line insights from various sources, such as Tableau, social media, email, and marketing engagement.
  3. Use these insights to inform decisions and identify new opportunities.
  4. Be responsible for the success of your content lines.

What Do We Need From You?
Essential Requirements
EAL Teaching Experience
  1. A minimum of 3 years’ experience supporting students/families with English as an Additional Language (EAL), either in a school or specialist educational setting.

Relevant Qualification
  1. An undergraduate or master's degree in Primary Education (primary or secondary) with a proven specialism in EAL within a school or educational setting.
  2. The addition of a recognised EAL teaching qualification, such as CELTA, TEFL, TESOL (or equivalent), is preferred but not essential.

Up-to-Date Knowledge of EAL Practice
  1. A strong understanding of current research, trends, and best practices in EAL education, including experience applying these in real-world classroom or resource development settings.

Remote Working Requirements (if Applicable)
  1. For UK-based remote positions, access to a fast and reliable internet connection with a minimum speed of 6mb download / 1mb upload is essential.

Educational Resource Development Experience
  1. Experience in designing, developing, or leading the creation of educational content or teaching resources, particularly for EAL learners.

Creative Problem Solving
  1. A proactive and innovative approach to generating ideas and solutions for improving educational outcomes and addressing learner or teacher challenges.

Collaborative Working Style
  1. Proven ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across teams and disciplines, as well as with external partners or stakeholders.

Professional Communication Skills
  1. Experience in delivering presentations, training sessions, or professional development to teachers, educational professionals, or wider audiences.

Please Note
We are only able to accept applications for full-time positions (37.5 hours per week). Additionally, applicants must be permanently based in the UK and have the unrestricted right to work. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship at this time.
