Position Summary:
The Education Officer will be responsible for supporting the development of the L2L School, L2L AP development, the curriculum, supporting the set-up of an L2L Examinations Centre and Health & Safety across the different L2L Site Locations whilst continuing to uptake a mentoring weekly timetable. The role involves communication and feedback in line with the management structure. Organising, planning and promoting specific calendared events, linking such events across the AP and the independent school, once OFSTED status has been achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate a Calendar of opportunities for student and mentors supporting the development of the L2L Independent school.
- Supporting in the growth of the L2L alternative provision.
- Health and Safety officer.
Operational Support:
- To develop and maintain an Annual L2L Calendar to raise opportunities for mentor development and student opportunities including team wide communication to raise awareness and include PSHE, SEMH and other academic related calendared events.
- To be involved in the development of an alternative provision curriculum to enable some of our students to gain qualifications.
L2L AP/School Developmental Support & Site Operations:
- Support the executive leadership team in developing the operational aspects of the independent school, its culture, curriculum and operational systems.
- To maintain communication with Independent School Advisors and other stakeholders.
- Support the L2L executive management team in the growth and development of the L2L Alternative Provision.
Site, Health and Safety Officer:
- Involved in the maintenance of health and safety policies, procedures and compliance across the L2L Sites.
- Maintain key records of health and safety testing including but not limited to Legionnaires Disease, Fire Safety Tests, Carbon Monoxide monitoring, PAT testing.
- Conduct fire drills and recordings.
- Regular inspection of L2L sites for safety compliance.
- Ensure all safety equipment is in working order and compliant.
- Incident management - investigate the accidents and near misses and maintain accurate records of intervention, reporting findings in management meetings to the executive teams.
Professional Development:
- Continuous Professional Development: Identify areas and opportunities for professional growth and training for the mentor team in line with the Educational Health and Safety operations at L2L.
Meetings & Coordination:
- Operational Feedback: Provide critical insights and feedback to the executive management team regarding area of responsibility.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Experience in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field working closely with vulnerable young people and the teams around the child.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in a mentoring or leadership role, with proven success in managing teams and delivering training.
- Professional Development: Commitment to ongoing personal and professional growth.
- A key understanding and experience of utilising technology to continuously improve and run systems, track progress of objectives, implement interventions effectively.
Key Relationships:
- Internal: Mentors, Management, Executive Management Team.
- External: Clients (parents/carers, schools, local authority), Partners, and other stakeholders.
Performance Indicators:
- Completion and quality of L2L Curriculum: Delivery of a well-structured and approved curriculum for the L2L School and Alternative Provision (AP) within set deadlines.
- Calendar Implementation: Creation and execution of an annual L2L Calendar with regularly planned events successfully delivered and evaluated.
- Inspection Timeliness: Conducting and documenting site inspections at least once per month per location.
- Policy Updates and Compliance: Annual review and updates to all health and safety policies, with 100% compliance, ensuring updated, relevant laws and regulations are adhered to.
- Incident Management: Resolution of 100% of reported health and safety incidents, with detailed reports submitted to management.
- Record Maintenance: Maintenance of health and safety logs (e.g., fire drills, PAT testing) with zero missing or any overdue records.
- School and Alternative Provision Development Milestones: Successful completion of key milestones for L2L School development and AP expansion within agreed timelines.
This position is term time only (39 weeks of the year). Any applicant requires an Enhanced DBS check before interview.
