Post Title: Education & Employability Manager
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Salary: £32,000-£36,000 per annum
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week (evenings and weekends as required)
Location: GoalZone, AESSEAL New York Stadium, S60 1FJ

This is an exciting role, leading RUCT’s Sports College. It is central to our vision of improving outcomes for communities across Rotherham through high-quality education and engagement.
By developing and delivering innovative educational programmes, it helps equip individuals with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities to succeed. Building strong partnerships with schools, employers, and funding bodies ensures the sustainability and impact of these initiatives.
Leading a dedicated team, the role fosters excellence in teaching and learning while ensuring compliance with national standards. Through strategic leadership and community collaboration, this position drives real change, breaking down barriers to education and helping to create a stronger, more inclusive Rotherham.
Strategic Leadership & Programme Development
- Develop and implement the education strategy in alignment with organisational goals, ensuring innovation and growth.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of high-quality educational programmes, ensuring compliance with national standards and regulations.
- Identify and implement new projects and accredited programmes that enhance academic and personal development.
- Monitor curriculum effectiveness, making data-driven improvements to enhance teaching, learning, and student engagement.
Partnerships, Compliance & Funding
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including schools, colleges, employers, and funding agencies.
- Secure funding and grants for educational initiatives, managing budgets and procurement to ensure cost-effective delivery.
- Ensure adherence to educational policies, safeguarding procedures, and quality assurance frameworks.
- Represent the Trust at meetings, conferences, and events, promoting projects and ensuring best practices.
Team Leadership & Administration
- Lead, mentor, and manage the education team, providing professional development, training, and regular performance reviews.
- Monitor and evaluate programme performance, maintaining accurate data for reporting to senior leadership and funding bodies.
- Oversee administrative tasks, including registers, reports, and retention data, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Undertake additional duties as required, contributing to the growth and sustainability of the organisation.
Additional requirements
- The post holder will be required to work some match days, evenings and weekends as the requirements of the job demands.
- Follow policies and procedures in relation to other matters e.g. Health and Safety, Safeguarding, GDPR, and financial procedures.
- A valid UK driving license and Enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check
The skills, attributes and experience this post requires:
Experience & qualifications
- QTS/PGCE or other national recognised teaching qualification
- Experience of previous managerial roles, preferably in the education sector
- Experience in curriculum development, teaching, or training delivery
- Demonstrated ability to improve educational outcomes and implement innovative teaching strategies
- Experience working with external stakeholders such as government bodies, accreditation agencies, and funding organisations.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong leadership, team management, and the ability to inspire and develop staff.
- Knowledge of education policy, learning methodologies, and assessment
- The ability to analyse challenges, use data-driven insights, and apply evidence-based solutions to drive improvements while ensuring alignment with educational standards.
- Proven ability to build partnerships, network effectively, and manage resources, including budgets.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders including teachers, parents and students
- Awareness of inclusive education, cultural sensitivity and emerging trends in education
