The Opportunity

This position works out of Scotland (Inverness/Aberdeen) and is part of Abbott Toxicology, an entity of our Rapid Diagnostics division. Abbott is the world leader in point of care solutions. Our POC diagnostic portfolio spans key health and therapeutic areas, including infectious disease, cardiometabolic, informatics, & toxicology.

The position of Collection Network Specialist is within our Rapid Diagnostics business located remotely within a Region. The role requires you to provide the collection of legally defensible samples for all our customers and conduct international administration tasks.

What You’ll Do

  • Comprehensive training in collection methodologies and onboarding processes.
  • Conducting specimen collections at customer locations following established procedures.
  • Participating in a 24-hour standby rota, responding to calls within 2 hours.
  • Performing audits and training as directed.
  • Processing international invoices and administering breathalyzer accuracy checks.
  • Managing administrative tasks for new Collecting Officers and monitoring tasks within 48 hours.
  • Cross-training to cover the UK Coordinator role as needed.
  • Staying updated with corporate and collection processes through regular training.
  • Continuously reviewing and improving collection/administration tasks to exceed customer expectations.
  • Communicating effectively with customers, keeping them informed of any changes.
  • Understanding the impact of your actions and ensuring positive outcomes for all stakeholders.
  • Implementing process changes promptly to ensure the success of the Collection Network.

Required Qualifications

  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Educated to National Standards.
  • Strong verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to follow set processes.
  • Valid driving license and own vehicle.
