As a Senior Data Quality Analyst within the Data Governance team, you will work alongside a team of Data and Records specialists and be responsible for measuring and driving the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of our data. This role involves analysing data sets, identifying data quality issues, and implementing solutions to improve data quality.
You will manage data quality issues, track and analyse problems raised by business users, and recommend solutions. Collaborating with Data Champions and Data Owners, you’ll investigate and resolve issues. Your insights will influence strategic decisions and help deliver value through data-driven decisions.
Continuous improvement is key to this role. You’ll identify process improvement opportunities, share knowledge and best practices, and enhance data quality.
You will integrate data quality requirements into strategic and localised projects to prevent future issues. Understanding each project’s needs and objectives is crucial to ensure data quality from the start. Your expertise in data quality planning, design, and execution will be vital in meeting these requirements.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Data Analysis & Cleansing: Manage the data quality issues log, analyse issues, and collaborate with business teams to facilitate remediation.
- Data Validation: Conducting thorough data validation and verification processes to ensure the integrity and reliability of data. This includes performing data profiling and data cleansing activities.
- Collaboration: Work with Data Owners and Champions to resolve data quality issues.
- Data Quality Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments to proactively identify data inconsistencies and errors and suggest improvements to data capture.
- Data Quality Monitoring & Reporting: Implement data quality monitoring tools and processes to continuously assess the quality of data. Develop and report on key data quality metrics and indicators.
- Documentation: Develop and manage the Data Glossary to establish standard definitions across the business and document the data quality rules and supporting lineage.
- Training & Support: Provide staff with training and support on data quality best practices.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and support data governance processes for appropriate oversight.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with business stakeholders to understand data needs and ensure data integrity for accurate reporting and analysis.
- Change Management: Consult on change projects to ensure data quality requirements are considered and relevant stakeholders are engaged.
- Support: Represent the Data Governance Manager in forums, working groups, and committees as needed.
About You
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience working in a data environment.
- Experience in generating data quality reports and driving resolutions.
- Ability to understand and create SQL, or equivalent, to support analysis.
- Hands-on experience testing data quality with tools such as Purview, Great Expectations, or equivalent.
- Experience of successfully dealing with all levels of internal stakeholders.
- Evidence ability to review, propose and improve processes and react positively to change.
- Ability to absorb, understand and quickly assimilate complex information and concepts and compare information from different sources.
- Enjoys working in a team and able to add value to the team dynamics, helping the team to achieve its goals.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Desire to continually keep up with advancements in data quality practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams, including engineers, business analysts, project managers, and product owners.
