As a Bid Manager at Purple, you will be responsible for managing and writing high-quality bids to secure contracts and partnerships across the UK and abroad. You will support both Purple’s Direct Payment Support Services and our business-facing disability and inclusion consultancy, helping organisations improve their policies, processes, and services for disabled employees and customers.

This role requires a strategic, detail-oriented professional who can manage the end-to-end bid process, develop compelling proposals, and ensure submissions align with procurement requirements and Purple’s expertise in disability, inclusion, and accessibility services.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the entire bid lifecycle, from opportunity identification to final submission.
• Develop and implement a bid strategy that supports Purple’s growth objectives in both business-to-government (B2G) and business-to-business (B2B) markets.
• Ensure bid responses are tailored to different geographies (UK, US, UAE) and sectors.

Bid Writing & Development

• Research, write, and edit clear, persuasive, and engaging bid responses.
• Work with internal teams to gather the necessary technical, financial, and operational information.
• Interpret technical specifications and compliance requirements, ensuring responses align with local and international procurement frameworks.
• Review and refine content for clarity, consistency, and alignment with Purple’s brand and mission.

Stakeholder & Process Management

• Collaborate with business development, service delivery, and leadership teams to ensure high-quality, competitive bids.
• Manage internal deadlines, ensuring input from subject matter experts is gathered in a timely manner.
• Maintain a bid library with reusable content, templates, and case studies to improve efficiency.

Market & Sector Insight

• Monitor disability policies, funding opportunities, and sector trends across different markets.
• Keep up to date with best practices in disability inclusion, accessibility standards, and procurement regulations.
• Track competitor activity and identify differentiators for Purple’s bid positioning.

Person Specification

• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Proven experience as a Bid Manager, with a track record of successfully managing and writing winning bids.
• Strong bid writing skills, with the ability to develop clear, persuasive, and technically compliant proposals.
• Experience managing multiple complex bids across different geographies (UK, US, UAE).
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate stakeholders, set priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
• Understanding of public and private sector procurement frameworks and technical compliance requirements.
• Ability to translate technical, financial, and operational information into compelling narratives.
• Experience in disability-related services, accessibility, or inclusion initiatives.
• Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Management, or related discipline).
• Professional certifications (e.g., APMP, APM) or equivalent industry qualifications.
• Experience using MS Project and other project management or bid tracking tools.
• Lived or professional experience in the disability and inclusion sector.
