The Lead Developer vacancy is with an established award-winning finance business going through their next stage of technical transformation.

Hybrid - Preferably 2 days per week in the office

As Lead Developer, you will take ownership of a close-knit team of backend developers to deliver software solutions that meet business objectives. This is a high-impact position where you will lead system architecture, collaborate with stakeholders, drive improvement, and deliver scalable solutions that enhance operational efficiency and business growth.

A leader with strong hands-on development experience who is excited by the prospect of delivering meaningful technological change. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a hybrid team structure, show willingness to be onsite to understand business systems and stakeholder needs, and the ability to manage remote and in-house developers effectively.

Technical Skills & Experience

1. Strong expertise in JavaScript, Node.js, Vue.js, SQL & MongoDB
2. Proven experience designing and implementing complex software systems.
3. Deep understanding of software architecture, scalability, and system optimisation.
4. Experience in Agile development methodologies and best practices.
5. Strong knowledge of cloud computing and AI integration is desirable
6. Experience managing and mentoring development teams
7. Ability to foster strong relationships with remote and cross-functional teams.
8. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
9. Exceptional communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What You Will Be Doing

1. Lead the development, testing, and deployment of high-performance systems.
2. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to a growing development team.
3. Oversee code reviews, system architecture, and best practice implementation.
4. Ensure software development aligns with industry standards, security protocols, and business goals.
5. Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, and Data teams.
6. Work closely with stakeholders to define technical requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
7. Drive continuous improvement in system reliability, security, and efficiency.
8. Collaborate with data teams to develop data lakes and integrate AI-driven solutions.
