Senior Database Architect

Job Title: Database Architect/Senior Specialist-Architecture

Client Location: Burgess Hill (Hybrid)

Starting: 28/04/2025

Salary: £70K per annum

Duration: Permanent

Job Description:

• Essential Background of working with RDBMS PostgreSQL and Oracle for application development, design, tuning, DDL promotion, and upgrades.
• Ideally SQL Server in addition to one of the above.
• Designs, constructs, and oversees complex databases.
• Develop database solutions, analyze structural requirements, and experience in designing conceptual and logical data models.
• Essential self-motivated and willingness to pick up new DB challenges.
• Ideally demonstrable exposure to NoSQL technology (Couchbase, Cassandra).
• Graduate/Postgraduate qualifications and ideally worked in a financial company (fintech).
• Ideally used to working in Agile (Jira, Rally, Kanban, Confluence) experience.
• DevOps skills (GIT, Liquibase, Cloud exposure, Ansible, Terraform a bonus).
• Ability to think outside the box and not depend on runbooks.
• Team player.
• May be required to work outside normal working hours if needed.

NOTES: This is not a Production Support DBA role.
