THE ROLE
An exciting role for a BUILDING SURVEYOR at Project Surveyor or Senior Project Surveyor level to join an established firm of construction consultants in London.
Clients are varied, and the current workload is with a large university, a private school, and other clients.
The office is located in central London.
Duties will include all aspects of project work for refurbishment, alteration, and some new build. You will be responsible for conducting the initial survey, producing drawings, writing specifications and reports, putting projects out to tender, and supervising the projects on site.
Projects are generally valued from around £50K to £5m, and you will run multiple projects concurrently.
THE COMPANY
My client is a firm of construction consultants providing both Building Surveying and Quantity Surveying services.
They have a good variety of Blue Chip clients and investors.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be a Building Surveyor at either Project Surveyor or Senior Project Surveyor level.
You may be MRICS, MAPM, or MCIOB qualified or approaching the APC, and you should have around 3 - 5 years of building surveying experience.
Good all-round experience in building surveying is essential, particularly in project management for refurbishment, alterations, and new builds.
You will be able to conduct the initial survey, write specifications and reports, put the work out to tender, and supervise contractors on site.
Design or drawing experience is not necessary, as others in the firm can handle that, but it would be beneficial if you can do your own drawings.
A solid understanding of the building process is required to meet with clients and manage their projects at all stages.
You should have a stable work record with around two years or more PQE or 3 - 5 years of building surveying experience if you are not yet chartered.
Excellent written and spoken English is a must, and you should be confident in dealing with people at all levels.
A stable work record with another firm of consultants or an end-user client is essential.
Salary will be a basic of £60,000 to £65,000, slightly negotiable, plus a discretionary bonus, pension, fees, etc.
