Job description

Job Title: SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant

Location: Grantham
Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time

Are you a graduate looking to take your first steps into the world of Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have the passion and patience to support children with additional needs and help them thrive?

This SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant (TA) role in Grantham is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive school environment, working alongside experienced teachers and SEN specialists.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide tailored support to students with SEN needs on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
  2. Assist the teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
  3. Help students develop social skills, confidence, and independence.
  4. Support children with behavioural, emotional, and communication challenges.
  5. Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and support staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  6. Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  1. A graduate in education, psychology, special education, or a related field.
  2. Some experience working with children with SEN.
  3. A positive, patient, and resilient attitude.
  4. Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  5. A genuine passion for helping young learners succeed.
  6. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student well-being.
  7. Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
