Job description

Do you have specialist experience within the homelessness sector?

Have you worked on the Resettlement team in a Local Authority?

A Local Authority in West Sussex is looking for a Housing Options Officer specialising in Asylum Support and Resettlement to join their team on a six-month contract. This hybrid role involves one day in the office, one day working in a hotel within the district, and the remainder from home.

You will assess clients at the hotel, gather documentation, identify housing pathways, and facilitate referrals and move-on support. Working with partner agencies, you will ensure clients receive the support they need and help transition cases smoothly to the prevention or relief officer. While you will not be making homelessness decisions, you will be responsible for referring cases to the relief and prevention teams.

Experience using Home Connections is desirable. To hit the ground running, you will need experience in housing, asylum support, or resettlement services, along with strong assessment and coordination skills. A solid understanding of housing pathways and the ability to work with multiple agencies will be key.

The rate is negotiable depending on experience.
