Chartered Financial Planner at Milestone

Milestone:

We are a small financial planning firm committed to providing an excellent, friendly, human financial planning service to the people we advise. Ultimately, we want to ensure the people we help make the best decisions with their money to achieve their goals. As a small firm, we like to build great, friendly relationships with the people we advise, and dare I say, we also have a laugh and joke with them. We are now looking for a dedicated and experienced Paraplanner to join us on a part-time basis. This role offers the opportunity to work in a relaxed, calm and supportive environment where personal and career growth is encouraged if that’s something you want to do.

Role Description

This Part-time Paraplanning role is for someone with over three years of experience and working towards or already level 4 qualified in paraplanning or regulated financial planning. The role is currently two days per week, ideally over three days, with the view of increasing this over time. Flexibility in working hours, including around school hours, is absolutely fine. As a Paraplanner, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial planner and communicating with the people we advise and look after. You will work closely with me, the adviser, and the administrator to ensure clients receive the best possible advice and service.

Criteria

  • Previous experience as a Paraplanner or in a similar role within a financial planning firm.
  • Hold relevant financial qualifications (e.g., Level 4 Diploma in Paraplanning, Regulated Financial Planning, or equivalent).
  • A solid understanding of financial products, services, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using financial planning software (e.g., Prestwood (Truth), Morningstar, iPipeline, etc.) is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse existing financial products and create policy summaries.
  • Research financial products, tax-efficient solutions, and investment strategies.
  • Prepare illustrations and recommendation reports.
  • Provide technical support in relation to pensions, investments, protection, and tax planning.
  • Liaise with clients and third-party providers to obtain necessary information.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist in the ongoing management of client relationships.
  • Challenge the way we do things to make the service better.
