IMG is a global leader in sports, fashion, events and media. The company manages some of the world’s greatest athletes and fashion icons; owns and operates hundreds of live events annually; and is a leading independent producer and distributor of sports and entertainment media. IMG also specializes in licensing, sports training and league development. IMG is a subsidiary of Endeavor, a global sports and entertainment company.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The Vice President, Marketing, plays a key role in IMG’s marketing – both external marketing and internal engagement initiatives targeting IMG’s own employees. The role requires a deep expertise in marketing and an ability to collaborate and deliver programs within a large, matrix’d organization.

  1. Develop an annual Marketing Strategy and Budget that supports IMG’s vision and business priorities, including increased awareness and understanding of IMG’s new brand and value proposition.
  2. Deliver a brand engagement strategy to ensure employees and clients/partners engage with IMG’s new brand and value proposition.
  3. Successfully develop and deliver concurrent marketing initiatives (leveraging digital media, events, partnerships and more), and lead reporting and analysis to demonstrate the impact delivered.
  4. Develop best-in-class external communications programme, including Quarterly Product campaigns.
  5. Manage IMG’s owned Events Program and hospitality program to deepen IMG’s relationships with clients and customers across the sports eco-system.
  6. Own IMG’s Workplace Engagement strategies to optimise our employer brand to attract, develop and retain top quality talent, and support efforts to deepen IMG’s skillsets and knowledge.
  7. Develop insights and research to ensure that we are anticipating and exceeding the needs of our stakeholders and communities, e.g., using NPS and other stakeholder surveys.
  8. Maintain and optimize IMG’s digital presence, key digital infrastructure, and a full digital brand asset suite. Develop and own IMG’s native content program to enhance our earned Media strategy.
  9. Lead IMG’s in-house creative and design, and oversee allocation of resources across IMG.
  10. Successfully own and manage IMG’s marketing budget, delivering the marketing initiatives to budget.
  11. Successfully motivate, inspire, and manage a large team.
  12. Input to IMG’s media management programme to grow IMG’s share of voice and understanding of our value proposition.
  13. Understand the market, competitors, and consumer behaviour, identify market trends and opportunities.
  14. Other duties that are within the scope of the role may be required.

Knowledge and Experience

  1. Deep expertise in B2B and ideally B2C marketing.
  2. Experience in developing and successfully delivering marketing campaigns, large and high-profile internal and external events, partnerships with external bodies (e.g., sports industry partners such as Leaders, Sports Pro) and more as part of an integrated Marketing Strategy.
  3. Experience in Branding and Brand strategy; including rolling out a Brand Playbook, developing assets and sales collateral for sales teams.
  4. Deep expertise of managing large Marketing teams and Marketing budgets.
  5. Marketing strategy planning skills, to develop impactful marketing strategy.
  6. Demonstrated program management, and success in leading the execution of multiple concurrent marketing initiatives.
  7. Experience of developing and steering marketing campaigns with a consistent focus on the brand’s purpose, vision, and strategic direction.
  8. Ideally experience in internal and external insight generation related to brand – e.g., managing NPS and other stakeholder surveys.
  9. Proven success at recruiting, motivating, inspiring, and managing a large team both directly and indirectly.
  10. Leading a highly successful rebrand or brand evolution project.
  11. Development and execution of brand growth strategies.
  12. Strong strategic, analytical, and project management skills.
  13. Ability to see beyond the norm, try and test new strategies and approaches.
  14. Ideally, experience within the sports and entertainment industry – or experience in related industries.

  1. Deep marketing expertise, with the ability to manage a large Marketing team to successfully implement and track compelling and impactful marketing campaigns, both externally to the sports industry and internally to employees.
  2. Creative, with an ability to develop effective campaigns.
  3. Impact-orientated, with an ability to analyze the impact of campaigns, and develop key insights and learnings.
  4. Experienced leader and team player - able to motivate a large team.
  5. Strong program management skills – able to successfully deliver multiple concurrent projects.
  6. Collaborative, able to work with a large matrix’d organization.
  7. An entrepreneurial spirit, someone that can help drive opportunities from conception through to delivery.
  8. Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work with a diverse range of international colleagues.
  9. Organised and rigorous approach to work.
  10. Very strong communication and interpersonal skills. Confident, outgoing personality.
  11. Excellent analytics.
  12. Excellent time management skills, ability to work calmly under pressure whilst meeting deadlines.
  13. Excellent knowledge of MS Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
