Job description

Our Client based in Reading requires a Qualified HGV Technician – min of C&G Level III or Btec.

Location: Reading

Hours: 42.5 pw + OT paid at time and a third

Provide cover on rota system for breakdown cover.

As an HGV Technician, you are responsible for the maintenance, service, and repair of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). You ensure that all vehicles are maintained to a high safety and performance standard, identifying and repairing any mechanical or electrical issues.

Skills and experience required:

  • Educated to C&G Level III or Btec
  • Current full UK driving licence
  • Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and repair equipment specific to HGVs
  • Strong mechanical and electrical repair skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements
  • HGV licence (desired but not essential)
  • Forklift Licence (FLT) (desired but not essential)
  • Ability to lift heavy components and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Capability to work in various conditions, including outdoor environments and in confined spaces
