Job description

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a very successful Manufacturing business on the appointment of a Senior Buyer on a full-time permanent basis at their County Antrim location.

As the Buyer, you will manage the procurement of raw materials, products, and services, ensuring they meet specifications, quality standards, and budgetary requirements.

Duties will include:

  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive process improvements.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including production, logistics, and quality control, to facilitate seamless procurement and timely deliveries.
  • Manage purchase orders, track delivery schedules, and promptly resolve any quality or timing discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, supplier contracts, and purchase agreements.
  • Proactively source and evaluate new suppliers to enhance the company's sourcing capabilities and competitiveness.

What you will need to succeed:

  • 2 years' previous purchasing experience, ideally within manufacturing.
  • Strong Excel and MRP user.
  • Adept negotiator and communicator.
  • Previous success with cost-saving projects.
