Are you passionate about enhancing young people’s careers? The School of Health Education and Care is looking for a full-time Lecturer who will inspire our learners to achieve their full potential during their time at West Herts College.

The right candidate will plan, deliver, and assess Health and Social Care and/or Childcare courses at levels 1, 2, and 3, as well as have the opportunity to deliver and assess across the T level in Education and Early Years.

The candidate will be responsible for delivering skills and knowledge to high standards. This will be achieved by planning the curriculum, preparing resources, delivering lessons, marking student work, and supporting students with their whole programme of study.

We are seeking an adaptable industry specialist to teach and embed essential skills across both Health and Social Care as well as childcare qualifications. Learners complete invaluable work experience placements as part of their study programme, which will launch them into a career in the Health and Social Care or Childcare sector with skills and experiences that align with their chosen career path.

This opportunity exists for an individual who wants to work in a stimulating environment to inspire our students to achieve their best. The successful candidate will need to have the essential skills and knowledge required in Health and Social Care, whilst additional Childcare and/or Psychology skills and experience are desirable. You will ideally have experience working with young people or apprentices either in a college or an educational setting; having an inspirational and motivational approach is essential to educate and encourage learners towards a successful career.

Applicants should have a degree or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care or Childcare, as well as relevant vocational experience. A teaching qualification would be advantageous; however, we would offer full teacher training to the successful candidate.

The successful applicant will become part of a highly motivated team who are dedicated to raising standards and improving outcomes for all learners.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 23rd March 2025. The successful candidate will join our team from August 2025.

You’ll have the full support of a dynamic team and opportunities to bring your ideas to the role. Training and development are at the heart of everything we do, so you’ll be encouraged to upskill.

We have a free on-site gym, and you can access a wide range of discounts and benefits including a cycle to work scheme, free on-site parking, pension, generous holiday scheme, time off at Christmas, and early finishes on a Friday.
