Job description

Sales Executive, Material Science & Energy Applications

Sales Executive – Material Science & Energy Applications

A well-respected international supplier of specialist scientific materials and instrumentation has an opportunity to join their close-knit commercial team as a sales executive to sell their range of innovative products into materials science and energy research laboratories.

This is an excellent opportunity to provide valuable materials and equipment into academic research laboratories across the UK and Europe, meeting sales targets, proactively reaching out to new customers via in-person and online sales meetings/calls, providing quotations, and liaising with suppliers to provide a tailored product offering to customers following a detailed, consultative, technical discussion.

This is a field-based scientific sales role that will involve traveling to customer sites regularly throughout the week (approx. 3-4 days per week) so candidates must be confident and open to meeting with a wide range of researchers, PIs, and becoming the main point of contact for customers within a defined geographical area.

Candidate Requirements

  1. Educated to BSc level or higher in Materials Science, Chemistry, Metallurgy, Physics, or related scientific discipline
  2. Previous commercial/customer-focused experience in a related or unrelated area (for example, target-driven experience in an unrelated field)
  3. Strong communication skills with great interpersonal and negotiation skills
  4. Full UK Driving Licence
