Job description

Position: Colony Physical Education Teacher
FTE: 1.0 FTE Term
School: Cascade, Emerald, Forest Home, Hidden Valley, Muller, West Plains
Start Date: Immediate or mutually agreed upon
End Date: June 30, 2025

Colony Schools are K-12 schools with staff who work together to provide an inclusive educational environment. Pine Creek School Division has 6 Colony Schools that include: Cascade, Emerald, Forest Home, Hidden Valley, Muller, West Plains.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A valid Manitoba Teacher Certificate (or eligibility for certification)
  • Physical Education degree and/or experience
  • A sound knowledge of provincial Early Years and/or Middle Years curricula
  • Previous teaching experience is considered an asset.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate physical education programs for students.
  • Travel between six Colony Schools within the division to provide instruction.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes physical fitness, teamwork, and overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with school staff, administration, and community members to enhance the physical education program.
  • Ability to work independently and manage travel between multiple schools.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
