Maths/ Science Teaching Assistant

Location: Secondary School based in Twickenham

A small secondary school based in Twickenham is looking for a Teaching Assistant who has a good understanding of SEN, to support children aged 11-16 across their mainstream classes. The Teaching Assistant role starts in April; trials and interviews will be held as soon as possible.

The school offers a fantastic enrichment programme for staff to be involved in, including homework and after-school clubs. Parking is available on site!

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

1. Work with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
2. Carry out assessments and observations as instructed by teachers.
3. Support with reading and writing, focusing on students with special needs.
4. Support students aged 11-16.
5. Write progress reports for students with SEN and varied abilities.

Ideal Skills and Requirements:

1. Math or science related degree.
2. Experience working with children in any setting/understanding of SEN.
3. Experience working in a care setting (e.g., support worker or healthcare assistant).
4. Enthusiastic attitude towards learning.
5. Proactive and professional demeanor.
