Job Description
The Transport Operations Manager will lead a team of Supervisors, Drivers, and Clerical colleagues to ensure delivery, productivity, and financial performance indicators are met in order to provide best-in-class service to our client's customer. Based at the operation in Dartford, key responsibilities will include:
- Deliver transport fleet management and compliance, upskilling colleagues with transportation safety/compliance.
- Oversee performance delivery ensuring a high level of NPS/customer feedback is achieved.
- Ensure all product returns and stock debriefs are achieved.
- Deliver and track on transport KPIs/SLAs.
- Encourage team engagement, development, and coaching, including encouragement of two-way feedback and ideas within the team to continuously focus on best-in-class delivery and improvement.
- Internal and external stakeholder communication, including meetings with the customer.
- Drive innovation and high performance through high levels of safe working and practices.
- Ensure H&S delivery and regulations are adhered to.
- Assist with driver hours in line with legislations, along with the organisation of service and maintenance of vehicles.
- Ensure vehicle and driver records are managed in line with legislations and best practices.
- Point of liaison for escalation and incident reports.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Transport Operations Manager will live within a commuting distance of our client's operation in Dartford and be able to demonstrate the following:
- In-depth transport leadership experience within a fast-paced delivery operation.
- International or National CPC holder.
- Passion for transport compliance with a strong knowledge in transport legislation.
- Engaging leadership style, people management, and delegation experience.
- Commercially focused.
- Someone who thrives from innovation and development.
