Client is looking for a Linux Infrastructure System and DevOps Engineer to join their esteemed project in the public sector on a permanent basis. The solution under development is intended to extend the existing HDE tooling in order to provision desktops and support server functions for the Birmingham location. This is an evolving environment where requirements are liable to change.

Role is primarily based in Croydon, but there may be a requirement to travel or work from other locations in the UK as required.

Candidate should be technically hands-on and will shadow the Solutions Team to assist in writing the operational procedures supporting the project.

Required Skill Set:

• 10+ Years of experience in a professional, Agile environment
• Hands-on experience in Puppet Framework, Docker Framework, and Environment Management
• Problem diagnosis and support
• Secured Environment Development Practice

Responsibilities:

1. Desktop Management Support such as User Creation and Management
2. Operating System Patch management
3. Desktop Services Monitoring
4. Support Data Movement request from one desktop to another desktop
5. Networking and Firewall Management
6. VMWare Management
7. SAN and Disk Management
8. Hardware Asset Management
9. Servers Maintenance
10. Desktop Technical Faults 1st Line Support
11. Backup and Restore
12. Capacity Management and Server Tuning
13. License and CERT Management
14. Problem diagnosis and support
15. Software Tools Installation and Management
16. Enable the environment by using Puppet framework based on the design
17. Flexibility to travel to remote places on demand (Birmingham + Croydon)
