About PhoenixFire Strategic Consulting

PhoenixFire Strategic Consulting empowers mission-driven nonprofits and small businesses to thrive through innovative, hands-on strategies in fundraising, marketing, and organizational growth.

We’re a fully decentralized team of strategists, fundraisers, and nonprofit experts who help organizations create meaningful change, faster.

If you’re passionate about impact, problem-solving, and strategic innovation, we want to hear from you.

We work in the sectors we feel most passionate about, including animal welfare, mental health, social justice, and access to affordable services.

We believe in diversity of representation as well as diversity of thought and strongly encourage talented professionals from historically marginalized communities to apply.

We’re not just looking for a salesperson; we’re looking for a mission-driven, strategic relationship builder who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and wants to have a real impact for good.

If you answer "Yes" to these questions, you might be who we need:

  • Would you describe yourself as a good person?
  • Do you passionately care about the causes we champion?
  • Is it important to you that your work helps change the world, faster?
  • Do you pride yourself on getting results, not just working hard?
  • Is genuinely demonstrating a growth mindset and learning important to you?
  • Do you believe that sales is about building meaningful relationships and delivering value, not just closing quick deals?
  • Are you highly self-motivated and comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision?
  • Can you navigate conversations with nonprofit leaders and small business owners, understanding their unique challenges?
  • Do you have experience in lead generation, outreach, and client acquisition?
  • Can you clearly and persuasively communicate PhoenixFire’s impact to potential clients?

We don’t expect our team members to meet every single qualification. Please apply if this job feels aligned with who you are and what energizes you. Your resume may not tick all the boxes, and we welcome conversations in learning how you are hoping to learn and grow in this role. If this sounds like you, keep reading.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic outreach plan to attract nonprofit and small business clients.
  • Identify and engage potential leads through LinkedIn, networking events, referrals, and direct outreach.
  • Own email, social media, and direct messaging campaigns to generate interest in PhoenixFire’s services.
  • Clearly position our expertise, case studies, and success stories.
  • Convey how we help nonprofits and cause-driven businesses scale, raise more funds, and operate efficiently.
  • Leverage our flexible work culture, cause-driven mission, and top-tier team to appeal to values-aligned clients.
  • Manage lead nurturing, follow-ups, and discovery calls.
  • Collaborate with the PhoenixFire team to refine sales messaging and marketing materials.
  • Track outreach efforts and conversion rates, refining strategies to maximize impact.
  • Prioritize engaging with organizations that align with our commitment to social impact, equity, and nonprofit sustainability.
  • Represent PhoenixFire’s values with authenticity, transparency, and purpose.

While PhoenixFire has a global team and partners around the world, this position will focus on our US client acquisition strategy. Fluency in English is required.

Who Should Not Apply

Every member of our team has an entrepreneurial spirit and is committed to helping PhoenixFire grow and succeed in this next phase of our organization.

This role is not for someone looking for a traditional corporate sales job with the highest guaranteed salary. If you’re primarily focused on pure commission structures or transactional sales, this position will not be the right fit.

Most of our business has been repeat and referral. We’re looking for someone who sees client acquisition as relationship-building, value-driven, and mission-aligned, not someone looking to close quick deals without considering the long-term impact on our clients and their missions.

Additionally, our team has dedicated our lives to changing the world for the better. We're committed to providing an environment of mutual respect and equal opportunity.

As such, we refuse to work with organizations or people that further hate, bigotry, discrimination, oppression, prejudice, injustice, intolerance, or violence.

Why Join PhoenixFire?

  • Mission-Driven Work: Every client we serve is working toward social good.
  • Ethical and Positive Culture: We only work with clients who are doing good for the world, and our team is committed to the highest level of integrity.
  • Collaborate with a Talented Team: We’re experts in fundraising, strategy, and nonprofit growth. Most importantly, we’re all genuinely great people.
  • Be Recognized and Appreciated: Our first priority is always our team. We genuinely respect you, your family, and your contributions. We work to live, not live to work.
  • Work from Anywhere: We embrace remote work and actively encourage travel.
  • Create Your Own Future: This role has high growth potential, opportunities for professional development, and ultimate flexibility in where you travel.
  • Performance Incentives: We’re looking for leaders invested in PhoenixFire’s growth in this next phase so we invest in our people.

Compensation & Growth Potential

We’re a small, scrappy, and agile firm and are transparent about our budget limitations. We simply cannot match the salary structure of the big consulting firms.

What we offer that they cannot do is the chance to create something lasting and meaningful, work with an exceptional team of like-minded professionals, be encouraged to travel the world, and be part of making a tangible impact on the world.

Compensation will be tailored to the right candidate’s experience and potential impact. This role includes an incentive system that rewards performance.

Growth opportunities include the ability to move into a senior leadership role as PhoenixFire scales.

How to Apply

To apply, email development@phoenixfiresc.com with:

  1. Your resume and LinkedIn profile
  2. A cover letter explaining why this role excites you
  3. Answer the following questions:
  • What do you see about PhoenixFire that you would speak to potential clients about?
  • What new strategy would you suggest for acquiring new clients?
  • If you could work from anywhere, where would it be, and why?
  • One example of how you’ve helped a nonprofit or small business grow through sales, fundraising, or business development.

So, are you ready to join us and help change the world, faster?
