Job description

Trainee and Experienced CNC Machinist / Setter / Operator who has some experience in machining using Lathes, Mills and CNC, reading and understanding engineering drawings is required for a market leading manufacturing company based in Lowestoft, Suffolk.

ALL LEVELS OF EXPERIENCE CONSIDERED

We are looking for experienced Operators and Trainee candidates. As a trainee you will need some experience operating Lathes, Mills and CNC. Although, additional in-house on the job training will be provided.

LOCATION: Lowestoft, Suffolk

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 8 Hour Shifts - Weekly Rotation between Early and Late Shifts with an early finish on Fridays

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Trainee and Experienced CNC Machinist / Setter / Operator who has some experience in machining using Lathes, Mills and CNC, reading and understanding engineering drawings.

Working as the CNC Machinist / Setter / Operator you will be responsible for the setup and operation of state-of-the-art CNC machinery.

As the CNC Machinist / Setter / Operator you'll be working on a variety of projects, contributing to the manufacture of cutting-edge products. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of materials and gain experience with the latest technologies.

DUTIES

  1. Setting up and operating CNC milling and/or turning machines
  2. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  3. Loading and unloading materials
  4. Performing quality control checks using measuring equipment
  5. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  6. Identifying and reporting any machine malfunctions
  7. Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

EXPERIENCED CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Experience in tool setting and operating CNC Machining Centres (MAZAK beneficial)
  2. Knowledge of reading/understanding of engineering drawings and inspection equipment
  3. A relevant engineering qualification or apprenticeship (or equivalent)
  4. To be able to work independently and as part of a team with good communication skills

TRAINEE CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Some experience in machining (Lathes/Mills/CNC) beneficial
  2. Some experience reading/understanding of engineering drawings and inspection equipment beneficial
  3. A self-driven, willing to learn personality and able to work as part of a team
