Set within 14 acres, this provision offers a supportive living and learning environment for young adults with severe and profound learning difficulties and complex health needs. With specialist facilities and a focus on promoting independence, we support each of our young people through the transition from education into adulthood.
The Role:
As a support worker, you will be highly involved in personal care, supporting our young people with all aspects of personal hygiene including toileting, dressing, and maintaining their personal appearance.
In addition to supporting with their medical needs, you will also assist with the young adults' therapies such as rebound therapy or hydrotherapy in our newly renovated pool. We also have sensory gardens, a skills centre, forestry school, and rooms dedicated to art, music, and much more.
Independence is promoted wherever possible; the adults will often run their own days with activities they enjoy, so you could be helping make things in the site's enterprise scheme, going on shopping trips, taking part in forestry lessons, or even going to the pub!
Duties will vary, and you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever required.
