The Medical Education Coordinator will report to the Medical Workforce Manager and be professionally accountable to the Director of Medical Education.
The role encompasses administrative and coordinating responsibility, supporting the Medical Education team in the delivery and evaluation of professional teaching activity and training programmes. The Medical Education Coordinator also plays an active role in the development of the medical education programme.
The post involves line management of the Medical Education Administrator and supervision/undertaking of the administrative responsibilities associated with the quality assurance and financial management of educational activities.
Main duties of the job
- Responsibility for the support of medical education services across the organisation, including the planning, delivery, and evaluation of professional teaching activities, training programmes, continuing professional development, induction, and skills training for junior doctors.
- Line management and supervision of the Medical Education Administrator.
- Organise and oversee the Medical Education Administrator in the setting up of meetings, training venues, workshops, road shows, lectures, seminars, and events, including booking rooms and refreshments, ensuring all resources required are available and appropriate information supplied including financial reimbursement. This includes: Weekly Journal Club, Lunchtime Lectures, Case Conferences, Core Psychiatry Training Course, Multi-professional CPD Seminars, and any other meetings deemed appropriate.

- Ensure effective communication with the wider Medical Education Team to enable delivery of the Medical Education programme.

- Ensure that all study leave funds are tracked and payments where required are made, working in collaboration with the finance lead to ensure financial probity.
- Responsibility for the administration of study budgets for junior doctors.
- Ensure that Junior Doctor Induction is delivered to meet NHSE and CPFT requirements.
- Undertake project work as required, researching and producing information to support the project.

Knowledge and UnderstandingEssential- Demonstrable understanding of the operational management of the NHS, and the delivery of services in a secondary or tertiary care environment.

Physical RequirementsEssential- Ability to travel to any meetings across all the Trust sites.
