We offer a range of programmes in Initial Teacher Education, Childhood, Education, and Professional Development. Our undergraduate and postgraduate Early Years and Primary programmes are long-established with excellent outcomes and feedback from students. Within the school, we also have a suite of online programmes, international programmes and are developing new programmes across the field of education.

Role Overview

This role will be based primarily in the Initial Teacher Education team. You’ll be planning and preparing teaching and you will work with experienced colleagues to prepare, deliver, and assess modules across the undergraduate and postgraduate education programmes.

You can enthuse and motivate students, be flexible in your approach, have excellent interpersonal and mentoring/coaching skills, be highly organised, able to manage a varied and challenging workload and take a collaborative approach to your work.

Ideally, you have primary classroom experience and experience in teaching and/or supporting trainee teachers.

As part of your role, you will be required to support trainees on school experience and therefore a working knowledge of the DfE Teachers’ Standards and Qualified Teachers Status (QTS) are essential requirements for the post.

Our partnerships with schools and other education providers span across the South West, so access to a vehicle would be beneficial.

We are one of the largest providers of Higher Education in the South West with 38,000 students and 4,000 staff from right across the globe. Based in Bristol, one of the UK’s most exciting and forward-thinking cities, we are regionally embedded and globally connected, with an established network of employer and academic partners.

Employee Benefits

We offer a wide range of employee benefits including progressive pay rates, generous annual leave and career average pension schemes as well as retail savings, onsite nursery and opportunities for training and personal development.

We also provide a tailored professional programme to support our academic colleagues in delivering the highest in professional teaching standards.

We are proud to be part of a vibrant, multicultural city that celebrates diversity, and we’re always looking for talented people from all backgrounds to join us. Our people are our strength, and diversity enhances our creativity and leads to better decision-making and problem-solving. Bring your talent and ambition to our growing community and find yourself in a stimulating and supportive environment where you’ll thrive.

We particularly encourage applications from global majority candidates as we are currently under-represented in this area of the organisation; however, all appointments are made strictly on individual merit.

As a Disability Confident employer, we welcome applications from those who identify as having a disability.
