Manual Turner / Borer

We are recruiting for a Manual Machinist to join a diverse manufacturing client based near Barton Under Needwood.

This role has been created due to business growth, and the business is looking to add a new permanent member of staff to their team.

Successful candidates must be time-served or able to demonstrate competency through experience to ensure that jobs are manufactured in accordance with supplied technical drawings and specifications.

Candidates must have experience working with a range of manual machinery, including Lathes, Millers, and Vertical Borers. Experience working with various materials, including Stainless Steel, is a must. Experience with Duplex/Super Duplex would be highly advantageous.

Hours of work are from 7:00 to 16:00 Monday to Thursday, and 7:00 to 12:00 Friday. All overtime is paid at premium rates after 40 hours.

The Ideal Candidates Will Have:

• Experience working within a machine shop environment machining both fabricated and cast components to fine tolerances in either single or batch quantities and in a variety of steel grades.
• The ability to read, understand, and work to engineering drawings; overhead crane operating experience.

The Ability to Manipulate Any of the Following:

• Vertical Borer
• Manual Lathe
• Manual Miller

Candidate Skills:

• Ideally time-served.
• Demonstrable experience operating a Manual Vertical Borer, Lathe, and Miller to tight tolerances.
• Experience working with various materials, including Duplex/Super Duplex.
