ESTIMATOR - ROOFING / CLADDING / CONSTRUCTION

50K – 60K basic plus benefits including free parking – huge career progression!

Based in Stockport

Our client has been established for nearly 45 years and is a leading specialist in the field of industrial roofing and commercial roofing and wall cladding together with rainscreen façade, single ply membranes, building refurbishment and other associated activities. Always at the forefront of the industry when implementing new methods of construction, innovative new techniques and solutions. They are a friendly, relaxed business to work for, and there are great opportunities to work on really interesting multi-million pound projects.

Due to growth and forward planning, we are now looking for an experienced Estimator with strong knowledge of the Roofing / Cladding/ Construction industry. This is an interesting opportunity as this role has the potential to move into a Director level position so we are looking for someone that is ambitious and wants to join a business where there is a good future.

Main Responsibilities

• Estimating & Costing – Develop accurate costings for roofing and specialist works projects. Able to understand, measure and take off from drawings. Accurately draft bill of quantities.
• Surveys & Scope Development – Conduct site surveys to create specifications and proposals.
• Pipeline & Sales Management – Compile tenders, track conversions, sales trends, and commercial performance.
• Client Engagement – Build strong relationships, attend meetings, and deliver compelling presentations.
• Project and budget management - ensuring projects costs are managed and projects are delivered within the constraints.
• Supply Chain Coordination – Work with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure the best solutions. Sourcing and negotiating the best prices and quotes.
• Market Insights – Stay ahead of industry trends and competitors to maximise opportunities.

Skills and Experience

• Technical Expertise – Strong knowledge of the external building envelope, roofing systems, and repair specifications. Confident reading drawings and working with CAD designers.
• Problem Solver – Ability to assess defects and develop effective solutions.
• Commercial Acumen – Experience with estimating, tendering, and pipeline management. Strong relationship builder.
• Software Savvy – Comfortable using sales and project management tools and databases.
• Self-Motivated – A proactive, ambitious, and adaptable team player. Desire to build a long-term career and be part of something.
• Full driving licence and car
