Belcan Inc. is looking for an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to aid with maintenance and installation of various aircraft structures.

Responsibilities:
  1. Performing complex structure and aircraft installations, repairs, rework, and tests.
  2. Completing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, testing, inspections, installations, modifications and component changes of aircraft structures, components, and test equipment.
  3. Inspecting, testing and evaluating structural damage.
  4. Completing required paperwork, certifications and releases for work completed to meet airworthiness standards.
  5. Troubleshooting mechanical and structural problems.
  6. Complying with all safety regulations.
  7. Ensuring aircraft is ready for authorization or certification for maintenance release following any maintenance or repairs to the applicable airworthiness standard.
  8. Ensuring all parts and assembly meet requirements in accordance with approved data.
  9. Reporting unserviceable parts to the Person Responsible for Maintenance.
  10. Investigating aircraft system deficiencies and faults; find or discuss possible rectifications with applicable manuals and documents (e.g., service bulletins and drawings).
  11. Managing all parts and disposition of parts in assigned workstation by using proper documentation.
  12. Instructing and assisting other team members in interpretation of blueprints, drawings, and engineering orders.
  13. Training other team members in methods and procedures.
Experience and Education:
  1. Diploma from accredited Post secondary institution considered an asset.
  2. Previous experience in general aviation maintenance considered an asset.
  3. AME M1 license is a requirement (candidates can be in process of M1 license).
  4. Radio operators certificate considered an asset.
  5. Pilots license considered an asset.
  6. Must be able to lift 50 lbs (25 kg).
  7. Work is done mostly indoors - AC in the summer and heated in the winter.
Skills and Knowledge:
  1. Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  2. Familiar with all functions of components and systems for installation.
  3. Possess skill in close tolerance work (e.g., drilling, reaming, ship fitting parts, etc.).
  4. Thorough knowledge in the use of multiple measuring devices with ability to use within specified tolerance.
  5. Ability to use computer programs such as Excel and Word.
  6. Ability to navigate systems such as Smarteam and Navision considered an asset.
  7. Ability to research and understand the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and FAA Regulations (FARs).
