Job description

Jobs for ECTs in Littlehampton, West Sussex

Competitive rates of pay for daily supply or paid to scale at a minimum of £153.84 per day for a long-term role* (*with planning & marking)

Are you an ECT (Early Careers Teacher) without a role for September 2024? Are you an ECT looking to kick-start your induction? Are you an ECT who has secured a role but only on a short-term temporary basis from June/July? Are you an ECT looking for flexible/part-time work? Are you an ECT looking for competitive rates of pay? If the answer is 'Yes' to any of the above questions, then we would love to hear from you.

With over 15 years' experience and having built great relationships with all of the secondary schools in the Littlehampton area, I can confirm that in the academic years 23/24 & 24/25 we will continue to have a high volume of work coming in. We have an exceptional track record in placing ECTs in their 1st or 2nd assignments and very often in permanent roles.

Historically, the cover requirements in the Littlehampton area tend to be very high, whether that be on a day-to-day supply basis or on a long-term basis to cover sickness/maternity etc. This can prove to be a great opportunity for ECTs to gain experience, get paid and find the type of school that they wish to work in.

We are consistently getting a high demand for all subject areas of teachers, including Maths, English, Science, PE, Music, DT, Languages, Humanities, and more.

We can also ensure that we are offering consistent, paid work to our teachers! Hays are looking for ECTs who are willing to work on a flexible basis; this opportunity would be perfect for anybody who wants to gain valuable experience in preparation for the next academic year or is looking to pick up an extra day of supply when they can.

Are you looking for flexible work? Did you want to be in the classroom but also have a role that fits around your lifestyle? Are you looking to try different sized schools and increase your experience of different educational settings? You can work as little or as often as you like, and working supply means that you can have a say in what schools you would like to go to. We offer long term, contract, and permanent work as well as day-to-day.

What you'll need to succeed:

  1. A minimum of 2 months teaching experience in the past 4 years (this can include university placements)
  2. Have the right to work in the UK
  3. You must have a PGCE, QTS, or QTLS

If you don't have a PGCE, QTS, QTLS, or recent teaching experience, you can register as a Teaching Assistant or cover supervisor, provided you have worked with children for 1 month in the past 4 years. We welcome applicants who are currently working for other agencies.

What you'll get in return:

As a Hays Supply Teacher, you will receive a generous rate of pay (dependent on experience). Other benefits include holiday pay and access to our exclusive e-learning platform, where you can complete safeguarding and other courses to aid in your development.
