Your role

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Ecommerce Merchandising Manager for our eCommerce retail brand Glasses Direct.

The Merchandise Marketing Manager is responsible for driving the product strategy for frames and lenses, focusing on assortment planning, product calendar development, and experience optimization. This role is critical to enhancing Average Order Value and improving conversion rates and gross margins.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Product Strategy Development
    • Formulate and implement a comprehensive product strategy aligned with business objectives to drive improvements in AOV, CVR, and product margins.
    • Develop and execute action plans across product assortment, marketing, website experience, and other business functions to support strategic goals.
  2. Product Assortment and Pricing Management
    • Lead the development and management of the frame assortment plan, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
    • Develop the new frame introduction plan and coordinate with the group team to ensure alignment.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and oversee the lens assortment plan, ensuring effective execution and alignment across all stakeholders.
    • Ensure effective pricing strategies for both frames and lenses to optimize profitability and market competitiveness.
  3. AOV, CVR, and Margin Optimization
    • Lead initiatives aimed at optimizing AOV and ensure the successful execution of related projects.
    • Collaborate with the UX team to initiate product website experience optimization projects that improve CVR and drive user engagement.
    • Oversee product margin performance, refining pricing strategies and leading initiatives to improve profitability of different product categories.
  4. Product Marketing Calendar Development and Execution
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive product marketing calendar for frames and lenses, aligning with key business initiatives and seasonal campaigns.
    • Partner closely with UX, CRM, Brand, and Marketing teams to align on strategic plans and ensure seamless execution across all channels.
    • Work with the Group Merchandising team to finalize the promotional calendar for EL brands, ensuring compliance with Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policies and brand guidelines.
  5. Reporting and Analysis
    • Lead research and analysis efforts to drive product assortment decisions, marketing strategy optimization, and initiatives to enhance AOV, CVR, and margin.
    • Generate routine and ad-hoc reports, providing actionable insights to guide strategic decision-making and continuous business optimization.

  • Reporting & Data Visualization Skills: Expertise in data-driven reporting, with advanced skills in data visualization and presenting insights in a clear, impactful manner.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to engage, interact, and build relationships with a diverse workforce across all levels.
