Job description

Job Title: Ecologist (Contract)

Salary: £16.82 per hour

Location: London / Epsom

Type: Temporary 12 months (potential of extension), up to 40 hours per week

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Ecologist to support a diverse range of projects across the UK. You will play a key role in delivering ecological surveys, habitat assessments, and protected species monitoring, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to drive biodiversity enhancements.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Planning, coordinating, and undertaking field surveys
  2. Analysing and interpreting survey results
  3. Providing Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) support
  4. Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-profile projects

What Our Client is Looking For
Qualifications & Memberships
  1. A degree in Ecology or a related field
  2. Membership of CIEEM (covered by our client)
Technical Skills & Experience
  1. Strong protected species survey skills
  2. UK Habitat survey and Defra Biodiversity Metric knowledge
  3. Experience in Biodiversity Net Gain assessments (desirable)
  4. Level 1 or 2 bat survey licence (desirable)
  5. Full UK driving licence
Key Attributes
  1. Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  2. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
