An established industry player is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to enhance their award-winning analytics platform. In this pivotal role, you will manage infrastructure, automate processes, and ensure the reliability of a cloud-native application used by top insurance firms. Collaborate with a diverse team of experts to optimize performance and scalability while implementing best practices in security and automation. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions that drive business success and improve client experiences in a dynamic environment.
Lane, Clark & Peacock (LCP) is a leading analytics and actuarial consultancy in the UK, providing expert advice and software solutions to a diverse client base that includes leading FTSE 100 companies, public sector bodies and major pension schemes. LCP has increasingly focused on technology and diversification as a strategic priority, developing bespoke solutions that fuse human instinct with analytical insights, enabling clients to navigate complexity and make informed decisions.
We combine a diverse blend of industry specialists, actuaries, data scientists, developers, and other experts who work collaboratively to deliver bespoke solutions. From innovative technology that helps scheme trustees and sponsors make better pension investment and funding decisions to our multi-award-winning insurance analytics platform for general insurance companies. We use cutting-edge visualisations to showcase break-through research in health analytics, harness AI for real-time forecasting of energy markets, and advanced football analytics for performance prediction and player scouting and recruitment.
What's the role?
We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) skills to join the Insurance Analytics team at LCP to work on a mission-critical SaaS product used by top insurance firms across the world. Our team develops and supports LCP InsurSight, our cloud-based multi-award-winning insurance analytics platform. InsurSight was launched in April 2020 and is licensed as SaaS to assess over £200bn of non-life insurance business.
DevOps and site reliability are particularly important for InsurSight because the platform uses machine learning to analyse large, complex datasets in the cloud. As a cloud-native application, it relies on many interconnected services working seamlessly together—from data storage and compute to APIs and visualisation. Ensuring the platform is reliable, performant, and scalable across multiple clients is essential—not just for user experience, but also for managing our Azure costs efficiently as our client base grows. As the first dedicated DevOps Engineer for InsurSight, you’ll take ownership of the infrastructure, deployment processes and platform reliability that underpin our product. Although you’ll be the only DevOps Engineer embedded within the Insurance Analytics team, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with LCP’s central Platforms team. You'll also work closely with developers, actuaries, data scientists and QA engineers in a highly collaborative environment. Your focus will be on automating infrastructure, improving CI/CD efficiency, setting up and optimising monitoring, and helping the team scale our platform with confidence as we onboard new clients. You'll also lead the effort on load testing, performance tuning, and reliability engineering—ensuring that both our development and production environments are robust, secure and ready to meet demand.
