Job description

Senior Building Surveyor

  • Support development and delivery of Building Consultancy services in the North and nationally (UK). This incorporates driving sustainable growth, statutory compliance and governance, retention and development of our client base.
  • Deliver 2.5x remuneration package in fees annually through delivery of Building Consultancy Services to clients.
  • Assist in growing the customer base so that the TRE positively contributes to the growth and financial performance of the business overall.
  • Be a valuable team member within the Building Consultancy business unit, ensuring that the company culture and behaviors are always displayed.
  • Work collaboratively with other people across the other divisions to achieve TRE targets and present a seamless approach to clients.
  • Ensure the delivery of a professional and exceptional service to clients.
  • Adhere to Concerto CRM, CASE and Quality Management processes. Develop the Building Consultancy service line, working with Building Consultancy Regional Leads and the Head of Building Consultancy.
  • Support other TRE business units where required/appropriate.

As a Senior Building Surveyor with John Rowan & Partners, you’ll do it by:

  • Delivering high-quality output across all areas of service delivery undertaken.
  • Delivering a minimum 2.5x remuneration package in fees through personal delivery or contribution.
  • Developing a network and working collaboratively with all contacts, internally and externally.
  • Attending and contributing to T&RE Building Consultancy Meetings where required.
  • Supporting colleagues where appropriate.
  • Understanding and applying commercial and financial principles. Viewing issues in terms of client service excellence, costs, profits, markets and added value.
  • Demonstrating good strategic thinking abilities. Translating strategies into specific objectives and actions.
  • Creating new and imaginative approaches to work-related issues.
  • Showing personal motivation – committing self to work hard towards goals.
  • Having good knowledge of the Building Consultancy market and wider industry.

What does it take?

  • Working towards membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
  • High degree of direction, self-reliance, assertiveness and the ability to hit the ground running.

  • Ability to challenge positively and debate confidently.
  • Ability to resolve difficult issues using appropriate conflict resolution techniques.
  • Strong planning, communication and people skills together with a “hands-on” approach.
  • Good stakeholder/client management skills, with the ability to quickly demonstrate an understanding of Bellrock’s business and clients’ business and the market dynamics in which we operate.
  • Displays an entrepreneurial approach to business, constantly seeking opportunities for growth.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Passion and enthusiasm to succeed.

Working arrangements

We embrace smarter working practices which offer our employees the opportunity to work their hours flexibly and remotely where their roles and business needs allow. In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work from the London, Paddington office, working two days a week with the team and the rest of the week can be worked from home.
