The Associate Director, Field Medical Advisor is pivotal in establishing and nurturing relationships within the medical and healthcare community, including healthcare practitioners, policy makers, payers, patient groups, and healthcare administrators. This role is dedicated to enhancing patient outcomes through the peer-to-peer scientific exchange of Moderna’s mRNA platform science, fostering trust, and encouraging engagement through personalised and digital interactions. The Associate Director, Field Medical Advisor plays a key role in sharing thought and insight with the medical and healthcare community.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of Moderna’s mission to deliver new mRNA-based therapies and vaccines, requiring a blend of scientific expertise, strategic thinking, and a commitment to ethical engagement within the local governance framework. Here’s What You’ll Do:

  1. Develop and implement tailored Scientific Engagement Plans that align with Moderna's strategy and the healthcare ecosystem.

  2. Utilise exceptional communication skills to simplify complex scientific topics for diverse audiences, leveraging tools like Moderna's Scientific Communications Platform and generative AI.

  3. Gather and analyze medical intelligence to understand the “what,” “why,” “who,” and “where” of healthcare challenges.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  1. Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including Key Opinion Leaders, public health institutions, and patient advocacy groups.

  2. Sharing up-to-date clinical trial data and research findings across Moderna’s therapeutic areas.

  3. Driving initiatives that enhance patient care and outcomes through collaboration with healthcare professionals and systems.

  4. Executing medical engagement activities, such as advisory boards and conferences, and navigating processes related to Fellowships, Grants, and Investigator Sponsored Studies.

  5. Ensuring compliance with the ABPI Code of Practice and serving as a Final Signatory when required.

  3. Digital Proficiency: Effectively utilise digital tools for engagement, demonstrating a "Digital First" mindset, and seeking innovative ways to enhance digital interactions.

  4. Collaboration and Training: Work closely with internal teams, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to drive initiatives, share knowledge, and contribute to internal training efforts.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications):

  1. Advanced scientific degree required – MD, PharmD

  2. Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Medical Affairs or field medical roles

  3. Experience of being a Final Signatory of the ABPI code of practice.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications):

  1. Experience in medical affairs and/or clinical development and/or market access, preferably with vaccines, immunology or infectious diseases.

  2. Established relationships within the medical community and a strong understanding of healthcare ecosystems.

  3. Demonstrated ability to navigate compliance frameworks and interact ethically within a field-based role.

  4. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.

  5. Business proficiency in English.

  6. Willing to travel up to 75%.

  7. Proficiency in digital technology and familiarity with virtual presentation platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
